Description:
A rectangular roof may appear to be a simple shape to create positive drainage, but what if your building is not a rectangle? This presentation will provide design development tips and tricks for complex roofs and roof terraces. Examples of roof designs will give architects and engineers tools to work together to create a successful lid on your project.
Learning Objectives:
Organize steps to design and document a successful roof system including coordination with the engineering team.
Identify complexities inherent with removing water from the roof through a sloped structure and tapered insulation layout.
Apply building code requirements to several aspects of a roof.
Explore solutions for roof terraces and occupied roof space below the finished surface.
