THANKS TO OUR NEW 2021-2022 PLATINUM SPONSOR:
Description:
This course will review processes and tools used to meet sustainable construction goals such as the AIA 2030 Challenge and how architecture and HVAC integrate to get the most from our buildings.
Attendees will gain an understanding of the energy code to set baselines, energy models and what goes into them, and how architectural and HVAC decisions impact construction and operating costs.
A case study will be presented demonstrating how modeling and those decisions worked together to determine the design.
Learning Objectives:
1.) Attendees will understand the role of the Building Enclosure as it relates to thermal comfort and ventilation requirements in mechanical design.
2.) Attendees will learn to assess and evaluate building performance through energy modeling and performance metrics.
3.) Attendees will learn methods of interaction between architects and mechanical engineers for the development of high performance and integrated design.
4.) Attendees will team delivery methods and documentation techniques for the production of coordinated construction documents.
